PlumberLog — Privacy Policy

PlumberLog is operated by NicheApps. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. We’ve written it in plain English because nobody reads the other kind.
Who we are
PlumberLog is a product of NicheApps, a small company based in the North East of England. When this policy says “we”, “us” or “our”, it means NicheApps.
What data we collect
When you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted version of your password. We never see or store your actual password in plain text.
When you use the app, we store the data you enter: jobs, costs, quotes, client details, mileage entries, your business name, registration number, hourly rate and country preference. This is the data you see on screen when you use PlumberLog — nothing hidden, nothing extra.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, browsing history or any data from your device beyond what you type into the app.
How we use your data
Your data is used to provide the PlumberLog service to you — showing your jobs, calculating your costs, generating your invoices and tax reports. That’s it.
We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for marketing purposes beyond sending you essential account-related emails (such as password resets).
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored securely on servers provided by Supabase, a trusted cloud infrastructure provider. Supabase uses industry-standard encryption both in transit (when data moves between your device and the server) and at rest (when data is stored on disk).
Servers are located in the EU/UK region. Your data does not leave this region unless you access PlumberLog from a device in another country, in which case the data travels over an encrypted connection to reach you.
Payments
If you upgrade to PlumberLog Pro, your payment is processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never see or store your card number, expiry date or CVV. Stripe handles all payment data directly — it never passes through our servers.
We receive only the confirmation that a payment was successful, along with the email address you used at checkout, so we can activate Pro on the correct account.
Cookies
PlumberLog uses only essential cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar tracking tools within the app itself.
Your rights
You can view all of your data at any time simply by using the app — everything stored is visible on screen.
You can export a copy of all your data using the “Export data” option in Settings.
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you also have the right to access, correct or restrict the processing of your personal data. Contact us if you wish to exercise any of these rights.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (jobs, costs, quotes, clients, profile information) is permanently deleted within 30 days.
If your account is inactive for more than 24 months (no logins), we may contact you before deleting the account and its data.
Third-party services
PlumberLog uses the following third-party services:
Supabase — cloud database and user authentication (stores your account and app data).
Stripe — payment processing (handles Pro upgrade payments; we never see your card details).
Netlify — web hosting (serves the app files; does not process or store your personal data).
We do not use any other third-party services that process your personal data.
Children
PlumberLog is designed for use by self employed tradespeople. It is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check this page occasionally.
